Auckland City is the second most diverse city per head of population after Toronto in Canada.

The NZ British Council office has focused on reaching new audiences who have not traditionally looked to Britain for thought and creative leadership: emerging leaders amongst the indigenous Maori population, and aspirants from the burgeoning Asian and new migrant communities.

The Creative Cities project has allowed us to showcase modern multicultural, inclusive and entrepreneurial Britain in a way which resonates with these two audiences, as have media technologies which “speak” to them in their own languages of television, video, media and social networking.
